We have a Chef Tested by Ward that we recently purchased used for $50. This thing works great. In about 4 hours this thing makes enough ice for the two of us to last for 4-5 days. We leave it on the counter while we travel without issue. We keep the ice in a one gallon Ziploc bag in the freezer. I'm sorry we waited so long before buying a portable ice maker.John & Cindy

We have a “Frigidaire” from Costco. No issues with it. Just pull the drain plug and dry it out inside when storing. Think it was on sale for around $70. Website shows $99.99 right now.Eddie & Kathy

I know this thread is a little older, sorry. We have a countertop ice maker, Igloo I believe. We dump the ice in a plastic bowl and then just throw it in the freezer, eventually getting a big chunk of ice. Does anyone use an ice bucket? I want a Yeti one, they offer a Veterans Discount so it makes it a little cheaper. Was wondering if anyone has a Yeti ice bucket or even the RTIC one that is less expensive, thoughts, experiences with them, or yet another alternative.Craig & Theresa

We've had an RCA since March, 2017 with no problems. Just make sure it is drained and completely dry before putting it away. Our daughter used hers constantly on her countertop, would let it melt and remake. But then it got mold growing on the inside and was quite the ordeal in cleaning it out. Lesson here is to bag the ice, yes it freezes into a block, and drain and dry lthoroughly between uses or the unit is going to be stored.

Ours is a Frigidare. Had it for a couple of years now. We also dump it regularly and keep the ice in gallon zip lock freezer bags in the freezer. Just takes a drop or two on the counter to break back up enough to use and am pleased with how much ice we can keep and stock up on before a few days boondocking. We have the rear desk in our 320 MKS and store it under on travel days and can plug it in on the desk without using active counter space as the desk space is more than adequate.Kevin and Deb Reeder, 2021 Reflection 320 MKS, IS, 1050W Solar, Battleborne 400 Amps, Victron Multiplus and Solar, Renogy DC-DC Charger
