    Big Red,

I purchased this mattress (60x80) on CloseToRetirement's recommendation. The under bed lift still works as intended. I purchased right at the end of a sale and paid $599 with free shipping. Looks like its $100 higher in price now. We have not slept on it yet but it can only get better from what we had.

Update: DW and I slept on this mattress for four nights at the Rally and we are both satisfied in this purchase.

Just got a new 2020 Solitude and have used it for 4 weeks, the mattress already has two "holes" where we sleep. Doesn't seem to recover during storage. Anyone know if this is normal or something wrong with mattress. Is this a warranty item?

Over two years (full-time) on a Tuft & Needle mattress. Wife and I both agree that its the best mattress either of us have ever slept on... and I have three protruding lumbar discs with arthritis in other joints.

PS... for those considering replacing the OEM mattress with a foam mattress, understand that foam mattresses are intended to be used on a ventilated platform to allow for air circulation. You can have issues with condensation - especially in a bed slide - and the resulting mold or mildew. This is how we prevent that in our rig:

There are also some "dry tiles" (actually interlocking rubber) made for marine use, but they're even pricier.

            Rob,

I'll order the ventilation pad from mattress insiders this spring. When I removed our old mattress I did not see any mold but there were some signs evident from the slight rust on the hinges.

            Thank you,

            Jim

Rob - its' a good thing that you brought this up as there were a number of posts over the years in the other sandbox regarding mold or moisture on the bed platform. Thanks, for being proactive to help others prevent this from occurring.

We purchased a new 2019 Imagine 2150RB this summer. We thought the mattress was horrid! We moved the featherbed from our old trailer to the new at the dealers and slept on it that night. That was the last night we slept on the mattress that came with the trailer. We bought a 2" latex foam topper (memory foam is junk that wont' last) and it didn't improve the feel of the bed much. The term "like plywood" is very appropriate. Then went to IKEA and got this: https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/haugesu...eige-70307308/ , put the 2" latex foam topper on it and haven't looked back. Didn't have to change the shocks. The only caveat is now it takes a bit to get up onto the bed because of increased height. This is largely due to the size of the pass through storage underneath. Total mattress height now is about 9 to 10" with the topper.

We Bought a California King mattress for our rig, its the same width and only 3 inches longer. With the slide in we had exactly 3 inches between the OEM mattress and the dresser. With the bed made it pushes on the dresser a little, but we got to pick the mattress and didn't have to settle.

We ordered the luxury foam mattress on black Friday 2022. https://www.mattressinsider.com/luxu...mory-foam.html

Wish we had done it sooner. Even with the topper the factory mattress had to pits where we lay; mine was particularly large. I was basically laying on the plywood beneath.

As seasonal travelers pretty much, we just couldn't see spending upwards of $800 or more for some of the RV mattresses being peddled by some RV folks and YT channels. We started with the factory mattress with a thick topper from Costco. No go!

We then took one of our Casper mattresses from a guest room and tried it out on a two day trip. We ended up with aching backs. We called the kids and asked what they thought about the spare room mattresses after our trip. We asked for their honest opinion and they said that they sucked and went home with back aches. We didn't even know how bad they were. We tried to soften the Casper with that thick topper and still it was too firm for us plus it ended up being 14" in height.

We went back to Costco and picked up a Nova 10" mattress with an integrated foam topper. Wow, what a difference. If down the road, we need more foam, we can add a small topper. We ended up getting them for our spare rooms. Another upside is that Costco had them for $350 bucks with a great return warranty.

I hope you can find the perfect mattress as it is a deal breaker to enjoying your travels.
