  • Frameless window leaking

Our window in the rear 1/2 bath would leak water during heavy rains. We could see the water flowing down the exterior wall over the gutter, and then the water would enter inside under the window frame and collect on the floor.

Our dealer investigated and repaired by sealing the window. My concern is, their seal repair seems to be a thick bead of clear silicone caulk around the window.

Does anyone know how these windows are sealed when they're installed? More importantly, how should they be repaired when the seal fails?

A silicone repair is appropriate for an 8000 series window--see https://lci-support-doc.s3.amazonaws...cd-0002701.pdf

The installation procedure OEMs are supposed to follow is here: https://lci-support-doc.s3.amazonaws...cd_0001725.pdf

I suspect you have a 3000 series window...but to be honest the blizzard of options in windows is befuddling. LCI's website is not specific as to the proper repair procedures for a 3000 series window (if indeed that's what you have). https://lci-support-doc.s3.amazonaws...cd-0002793.pdf

As you can probably guess by now, the main support page at LCI for window information is here: https://support.lci1.com/windows

Try using Parts Lookup link (on menu bar above) and to potentially find the window in question.

I faced a similar problem in trying to find the correct gasket/sealant/goop for sealing the window. What I settled on was getting some D shaped rubber gasket material from an RV dealer that works on all brands. Parts manager told me this is what he gives the techs no matter what brand or model they are working on. Used it to install my rear side window and it sealed perfectly and was easy to use.

Thanks for the info. Based on the parts lookup seems like a 3000 series, so I’ll explore that further.
