Generator Door Lock

Does anybody have a solution for adding a door lock on the generator door for the Momentum 25G? I just bought one and I believe there should be a lock on this door. Thanks.

If somebody is prepared to remove a heavy generator, a lock on a lightweight door isn’t going to slow them down for a second. They can get a locked compartment open faster than you can with the key. You’ll end up with a stolen generator AND a destroyed door. RV compartment locks are very close to worthless and probably cause more aggravation to the owner than the security they add.

You will be better off finding a way to install extra bolts that are more difficult to remove, or by finding a way to chain the generator in. Unless the compartment has other storage, stealing the generator is going to be something people are prepared for. It will most likely be a multi person task.

Another reason not to lock the generator door is emergency shutdown.
If there is an issue, do you really want to start yelling...WHOSE GOT THE KEY!!!

If you're concerned about when you're away, put a cheap auto alarm on the door.
