A floor jack works very well if you have one or know someone that does.

Country Campers Brian, thanks for the reply. Indeed I do have a pretty heavy-duty one and that was my thinking if I take it on. My biggest concern will be the bolt pattern and whether or not they are the same.

Mine bolted right up to an existing pattern. The awkwardness was more of a hassle than the actual boltup.

I would have to say the bolt patter should be the same as well as the width. With all of the RV manufactures and the aftermarket steps that are available they all should be the same from a sales perspective. It would not make sense to have different bolt patterns or sizes. Also worth noting that Lippert makes the majority of frames for the Elkhart industry so it would be easy for them to make all the same size thus the aftermarket would have to match what they do.

BillinTexas Bill, How bad are the originals? Is it possible to straighten? Dad pulled a set off the MH many many moons ago and straightened them with a hammer and anvil (i beam section). might be worth a try for a spare set.

And for straightening, you might need a bigger hammer.
