    Welcome to the forum lindera.

IMO your question is probably the most confounding issue RV buyers face. Forgive me in advance if I don't answer your question directly--this is an topic where (again, IMO) the buyer must understand why not just what. It's going to require some homework on your part. I urge you to not accept vehicle advice from anyone with a vested interest in your purchase without verifying yourself.

First, an excellent video (from YouTube) on the subject by the Keep Your Daydream duo (link originally provided by GDRV-Emily):

Keep Your Daydream (Marc) also has an excellent spreadsheet available on his website: http://www.keepyourdaydream.com/payload/

You'll find another video on the topic by the folks at RV Safety on their website: https://rvsafety.com/rveducation/tow...ks-and-trailer

If I haven't lost you already, here's three more website references with useful tools and information:

    http://towingplanner.com/

    https://www.huskytow.com/towing-calculator/

    http://changingears.com/rv-sec-tow-vehicle-sizing.shtml

Please drop by and update us on what you decided.

This is excellent advice. Other advice is to NEVER allow anyone to convice you to load beyond any of the labels posted in the door jamb of a tow vehicle. And look those labels over before you make a purchase on a tow vehicle.

GDRV.....it would be great if you posted the range of tongue weight based on the GVW of your RV's rather than UVW and the associated tongue weight of an unloaded RV. Many folks will inadvertantly make a vehicle purchase on UVW tongue weight values.

10%-15% on TT and 20% to 25% on 5th wheels based on RV GVW, not UVW.

The RVSafety link? It had apparently changed so I updated the URL. (Thanks!) If you're still getting the flag, which specific link is it highlighting? I tried all of them and they appear to work and go to the correct website.

Howson mentioned the “KYD” site and spreadsheet. I definitely second that. I have taken the spreadsheet and modified the Camper section. I wanted a more in depth way to calculate my CCC. KYD has lots of great videos and a video that specifically discusses GVWR, GVCW, etc... Figure out the numbers yourself, triple check, nerd out and have fun .

This is the source I use, as well as my co-workers when helping customers with tow ratings. And I ALWAYS tell a customer that I won't be offended if they check with their dealer first. https://www.trailerlife.com/trailer-towing-guides/
