Welp, buy a new sink,... and repaint a bathroom. Isn't that how it always goes? So, out with the wallpaper & vinyl tile backsplash from 2 years ago, and in with the Talavera sink, Guacamole green walls, and vinyl wood backslash.
Yesterday we replaced the original white sink with a slightly larger, Talavera sink we got while staying in Mexico in March. The sink entailed drilling a hole for a new faucet, slightly widening the sink hole for the overflow drain to fit, replacing the pex connections with adapters for the 3/8" connections, and securing the sink (which doesn't have clamps) with a combination of putty, adhesive, and caulk. For the walls, we removed the wallpaper and vinyl tile backsplash we did 2 years ago, scrubbed good with alcohol, binding primer, then 2 coats of paint. All while parked at a RV park in San Dimas CA.
