There are clearer pictures in the 2500RL online brochure confirming that this front of sink configuration is what Grand Design intended. There is not something left out. A call to Grand Design Customer Service (574-825-9676 Regular Business Hours) will likely answer your question.

Its designed as a towel rack from what I can see.
