The door for the front right closet hits the bed, which is annoying. We had a stacked washer/dryer installed, and the door limits how far the washer door opens. Also, have to leave the door open when running the dryer so it gets enough air. We removed the (24”) door, and replaced it with 24” louvered bifold door from Lowe’s. Separated the bifold door, into two 12” doors. Doors were too tall, had to cut them down to fit. Lowe’s only had them in White primer with white hinges. Bought new silver/chrome hinges at Lowe’s also. Hinged one door on left & one on right side of opening. Left door opens all the way, no longer hitting on the bed. Right door hit the dresser. Pulled drawers out of the dresser, removed screws holding the dresser and moved the dresser about 1” to the right, so door would clear dresser by 1/8 inch, and re-secured the dresser. Now there is more room, new doors open wide, and hide washer/dryer when closed. Louvers will allow air for dryer when closed. We plan to stain or paint the new doors to match other wood.
Seems GD could do this at the factory to improve access to the closet whether it will remain a closet or have washer & dryer installed.
Dealer installed the washer/dryer with a fiberglass drip pan and drain hose. We had them use stainless braided hoses for the washer, rather than the plain rubber hoses that come with the washer.
For now, the original door is stored in the loft.
