Message bolding?

I think this belongs in the how to forum, but there is no way to add a thread there. I am so confused about bolding of forum message titles. It makes sense that new ones would be bold and ones you've read would not be in bold. But why are so many not in bold that I have never read? Very confusing....Everything I've never viewed should be in bold until I say I want to mark it as read. That's how most forums work,

The bold will only be from the time you joined, not back further than that. I also only use the "Unread Tech" tab. This give me all unread since last logging in.
