I read through many different threads on the various stabilization systems. After having my kids and a couple of their cousins in the bunks on our last journey, my wife and I decided a system of some sort was necessary. Getting woken every time a 70lb kid flops around is not my idea of a good night of sleep.
I decided on the Morryde X-Brace as it appeared to be easy to install, had good reviews, and stayed connected to the trailer, so no extra bits and pieces to transport and store.
Install went well, I won't cover that as etrailer has a very detailed video, and the installation manual has good pictures and is easy to follow with clear directions. It took me about 15-20 minutes to install on my own including gathering tools, and opening the box.
Tools needed:
Socket Wrench
Torque Wrench (10 Ft-Lbf)
9/16" socket
1/2" socket
A lot of people do seat of the pants feel when doing installs and their thoughts of them, but I wanted actual measurements.
I set up my phone on a tripod and recorded some videos so I could shake the camper side to side and front to back, measuring before install and after.
For reference, this is likely worst case scenario. I had nothing under the jack feet, so they were extended as far as they'll likely ever be, I was parked on my unlevel gravel pad. The drivers side front tire is slightly off the ground - can be spun by hand. The trailer was leveled using auto-level feature on the Lippert Ground Control 3.0, so all 4 jack feet were on the ground
Measurements Before (Peak-Peak Displacement):
Pushing Side to side measuring Front: 1/4"
Pushing front to back - 1/8"
Pushing Side to Side measuring Back - 5/8"
Measurements After:
Pushing Side to side measuring Front: Negligible
Pushing front to back - Negligible
Pushing Side to Side measuring Back - 3/16"
