  • One Jack Did Not Retract -- Why?

Moderator Note: Slight edit (removed first sentence that had nothing to do with the question) since this is now a standalone thread.) -Howard

One of our rear stabs did not retract all the way. We broke camp at 430am so I didn't do my walk around as I should have.
Fortunately we did not hit any dips high enough to hit the rear jack.

A fellow at a service station notified us of the partially retracted jack.

I did auto retract again and it did not retract.
I went to manual mode and it retracted.

Any clues of why this would happen?

    According to Lippert:

If one or two jacks won't retract, "Electronic signal is lost between controller and coil."

For troubleshooting, they recommend the following:

"Attempt to retract jacks in MANUAL mode. If successful, replace touchpad; if not, test for voltage drop between touchpad and coil, repair bad wiring or replace defective controller or cartridge valve."
