  • Furnace Dead

Left yesterday for trip. The furnace worked fine all night. This morning it worked for a while, and now NOTHING. I checked the fuse at the fuse box, and found that when I remove the fuse, the little red indicator light does not illuminate, as the others fuses do when I remove them. What shall I try next?

Good morning Steve. Does the furnace fan come on at all? I assume the thermostat is lit up - correct? It is a Suburban furnace - correct?

Steve - Just to verify a couple more things:

        1. What is your battery voltage?
        2. Did the battery disconnect switch accidentally get turned off?

Battery disconnect switch is on. I’m plugged in to pedestal, but I’ll check battery voltage in a bit.

With converter off, batter voltage is 13.3v. With converter on it is 13.7v. I’m am running other appliances as normal.

              Jim,

After having the battery switched switched off for a couple minutes while I did the voltage check, I tried the furnace again. Looks like it working again! Not sure why unless it reset something. If you can think of anything else, please let me know. We’re heading to our next destination within the hour (Banning Ca), and then Yuma on Wednesday. Thanks for assisting Jim! With you having the same rig, and going back a few years with me, I was relieved when you answered this morning. Talk with ya later.

If the sail switch is stuck on before the fan starts, nothing will happen. Slight possibility that it was stuck and happened to reset during your other testing. That doesn't explain the behavior when you pulled the fuse, though.

I agree. That's odd the light didn't come on, but it's probably just a fault with the LED circuit on the board. Steve7 -- glad you got it working!

I had the same problem that the furnace doesnt start up. However. The stove lit just fine. Come to find out that my LP tank was low enough to not start the furnace but still able to light the stove. Light issue may be a faulty board.
