  • Hot water tank - 1 check valve or 2?

Attempting to be a bit proactive and want to order brass check valve(s) for the HWT. Is there a check valve on both hot and cold fittings or just the hot? The Suburban manual doesn't show anything.
It's a fair bit of work to get access to it right now or I would just check myself.
If it helps it is a SW12DEL
    Thanks

What is the best brand/model # to get. I should have one in my parts bin for when, not if the original goes bad.
      Thanks

Yoda - That's the one I use. But if it were me, I'd change it out before the plastic one fails. Sometimes, when the plastic one fails, it allows broken pieces to go into the water heater tank and then they are tough to get out.

This check valve is unique to the Nautilus water system and its only purpose is to prevent backfilling the water heater from the hot water system when the water heater bypass is open (usually only when winterizing). Another option would be to replace this check valve with a manual valve that needs to be closed when the Nautilus panel water heater bypass is opened. Basic “three valve” and the “Kantleak” systems do not have this check valve.
