  • Fridge temperature monitoring with Victron Equipment? Can it be done?

I was reading last night more on the Victron parts I have coming. From what I have read a second temperature sensor can be set up. However Victron does not indicate a use other than battery temps. Sensor part number is ASS000100000

So I was wondering if there is any way to add a sensor to the inside of the fridge and have the Multiplus watching it? Only problem is my fridge is in the slide and a long way away from the Cerbo GX and Multiplus location. Was wondering if cold be set up via Bluetooth and the VE Buss smart dongle

I know I am probably nuts when there are probably dozens of stand alone fridge remote sensors set ups out there.

    Later folks
    Keith

BTW Victron has refreshed their web site and appears to have a bunch of new products and assessors. Its easier to find things I think. Here is an example of something I have not seen before Its a DC to DC converter. https://www.victronenergy.com/dc-dc-...25a-50a#manual

You could always go the Home Automation route:

      Thanks Mike
I was hoping it might work, but I guess not.

As for the rvwisper I would end up yelling at it

Victron got back to me. Very fast response. Not sure what this means, but it appears with a long enough wire to tie the sensor back to the Crebo GX it might work. If it just has a read out function does than mean it is only instantaneous and I wont see a track over time?

        Hello,

On a Cerbo a sensor can be placed , which only has a read out function.
This can not be done through Bluetooth.

        Best regards
        Met vriendelijke groet

It this video he mentions refrigerator temperature https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wheKaU2_qw

Now I am wondering how long of lead I can put on the sensor and have it still work reliably?

            Yes, curious about the length.
Reading thru some of the community/victronenergy forum it sounds like the Cerbo GX / Venus GX use LM335 chips for the temperature sensors inside the lug.

Venus GX temperature inputs - https://community.victronenergy.com/...re-inputs.html

Ti.com data sheet shows some wire lengths: 10.4 Mounting the Sensor at the End of a Cable, 24 Awg 400' to 800', 22 Awg 625' to 1250'.
Guess I'll get a few LM335Z/NOPB and LM335AZ/NOPB to play with sometime.

I am going to add this to my Round-2-It list for later. Have a few more parts coming and then to set up my lug crimper to a work bench and get organized. My multiplus is delayed a bit and the breakers are coming from China (airfreight) with a hand off to USPS - what could go wrong with that
