  • Twin Star fireplace barely heating

Has anyone had any success getting or making repairs to a Twin Star fireplace?
I suspect one of the heating elements in ours is not working. We are getting some heat, but not much. Also only pulling 6 Amps instead of the 12 or so I would expect.
I contacted Twin Star and they say "sorry, not repairable. Buy a new one!". :(
Unfortunately its a year off warranty.

Most of these RV fireplaces are made in China or Africa and the manufacturers provide little or no support system. You can find replacement heating element/blower assemblies on the internet if you can match the dimensions. They're all 1,400 - 1,500 watts. I looked last year when we had a problem with our fireplace and found several to try, but the rig was still under warranty then and GD ended up replacing the fireplace. If you don't want to try the generic heating unit approach, any electric fireplace that fits the physical space will do (Amazon, Home Depot, Lowes, and several on-line businesses that just do fireplaces).

I second what Second Chance says. Planned obsolescence, the Chinese way. It took me a long time to chase down manuals for mine but found some help at TCI Customer Services. Link attached.
