  • Converter and Solar connected to batteries

I installed a 100 watt solar panel and Renogy charge controller to keep our two batteries maintained while our Solitude was in storage. Now that it is on a permanent site and stays connected to shore power, is there any issue with keeping the batteries connected to both? My thinking is that if there was a shore power outage while we are away, the solar set up might be able to keep the batteries charged so my inverter could power the fridge. We don't shut the fridge off when we are away. According to my neighbors (some who live there full time) power outages are rare and usually of short duration.

Good morning. There is no problem at all keeping them both connected. All solar set ups I've ever seen have dual (converter/controller) connections to the batteries.
