  • Temp sensor location for bedroom AC

I have a 375RE, and the AC unit in the bedroom only works when the bedroom door is open. When you set the thermostat to 65, the room gets to be 80, but tub he AC won't kick on until you open the door. Right outside the door is where the Dometic thermostat is located, and when you press the button to show interior temp, it shows the temp in the hall not the temp in the room. Yes, I do have the zones set up correctly and this is happening only recently. I am assuming there is a temp sensor that may have stopped working?

Appreciate any help - we n he to keep the door closed to keep the dogs in the room, but no ac is getting old

    Thanks in advance,

    Bob

You have dual 15K units, right? Are they Coleman or Dometic? What model year is your RV? (Putting it in your signature, like mine below, will help!) Can you take a picture of the thermostat and post it here?

Sorry about that, I forgot that my signature was not complete - done

It is a 2016 (purchased 2015). I don't have a picture of mine since it is in my rig at the shore, but here is the same model:

Zone 1 = bedroom, Zone 2 = rest of the rig. I believe they are Dometic units.

The Zone 2 temp sensor is on the wall of the kitchen near the control panel, but I cannot find one in the bedroom. The thermostat seems to work properly when the temp is set (even though it is wrong, if it says it is 68 degress when it is in fact closer to 76, if I drop it 2 degrees, it will run it down to what it thinks is 66 for example)

The issue becomes a problem at night, when the bedroom should be cold (door is closed to keep kids out/pets in).

      Any help is appreciated!

You *should* have a remote sensor in zone 2 that looks like the picture below. Does it look familiar?

The operating manual for the CCC2 has a lot of information on how to program the different zones. If it's been awhile since you've checked the programming that's where'd I start.

        or

Please note that I knew next to nothing about your thermostat before I did some reading--the programming aspect is a step above the dual thermostat setup in my Reflection.

Now that I read your post again, if that sensor I posted is on the wall in the kitchen then you might not have a sensor in the bedroom...as crazy as that sounds. I *assume* the zone 1 sensor is the thermostat itself.

            Howard,

That may be the case that the sensor is part of the thermostat, but the behavior of it changes drastically - literally overnight. One night we were able to keep things cool, the next we were sweltering. I will try doing a factory rest of the thermostat on Sat and see if that changes anything - thanks for the help!
