  • 2nd A/C on 25G

I am getting ready to order my new 2021 Momentum 25G. My question is this: This trailer is only 30A. Will I be able to run both A/C's at the same time? Not worried about running other appliances as well. Just the two A/C's while we are trying to catch some shut eye. If so, do you have recommendations of minimum size of portable generator?

    Thanks in advance

I realize that this question has been asked a thousand different ways.... However, I also know that technology has been changing rapidly. In GD video on their site they say that it is capable because of their "soft start system". Do any of you have working experience with this? If so, I would really appreciate some feed back. In addition, if it is all true how many running watts would you recommend to run both A/C with a generator?

I'm sorry I didn't respond when you asked your question the first time. And welcome to the forum.

I just don't have enough experience with this particular set up. I do have two ACs on my 2017 Reflection travel trailer, but it's a 50 amp system. I know that when I hook up at home, I only have 30 amps, and I can NOT run them both at the same time.

But the newer units have the Coleman ACs, and they may have a different current draw than my Dometic brand. Hopefully, someone will weigh in and answer the question.

Read some comments from the web(2021 29G with 2 AC's, 30 Amp service) and looking at GD Parts Lookup.
It appears the Momentum G Class have Coleman PowerSaver A/Cs that are supposed to run at ~10 to 12 Amps on High.
GD Parts also lists an A/C Timer Kit for Compressor Delay. https://www.granddesignrv.com/owner-...s/detail/51713

The Momentum G Class with 30A service appear to use a Midi-Power Control System Part number: 00-10050-361 by Precision Circuits, Inc.

Thanks. It sounds like both air conditioners have a soft start type of feature. They will both be able to run on 30A service. I will let you know if they work as advertised.

We have a 25G and it will definitely run both AC's simultaneously. As far as generators, the onboard Onan 4000 will also run both AC's plus appliances. We live in TX, so we've tested it thoroughly.

Make sure you'll get 2 a/c from GD. I've Ordered Out a few units lately and the 2nd a/c has not been available.
