  • 2021 Imagine 2670MK: Furrion AC: Dry Mode: Thermostat Control?

Hello- we just bought our 2670MK and love it. Right now, we have it parked with a 110v shoreline from the house. It's been quite humid so I decided to run the primary Furrion A/C in "dry" mode with the Furrion thermostat set at 72F. It ran for about an hour and a half. When I went to check the rig, to my surprise, it was at 61F. I double-checked the thermostat setting: it was at 72F and the compressor was still on. I opened the door and a window to get the temp back up to about 74, then ran the unit on "cool" and set the thermostat to 72. It quickly brought the room down to 72 and the compressor cycled off. Am I missing something with the "dry" mode? Shouldn't temperature in "dry" mode also be regulated by the thermostat?

    Thanks!

    Steve,

I'm trying to get answers for your question. Can you please provide the model number for your Furrion unit? Thanks,

Thanks Jim- I believe it is a Furrion FACR14SA-BL. I'm heading out to try the bedroom a/c and see if I have the same results.

Jim- I checked the second unit and it operates exactly the same: the compressor is on non-stop no matter what I set the thermostat to. But the "cool" setting turns off the unit when the temperature is reached (in auto mode).

Steve - I find it interesting that the owner's manual for the AC doesn't list a "dry" mode. Yet it shows up on the thermostat. And I can find no on-line resources to describe the thermostat's "dry" mode. I'm wondering if this is yet another Furrion oversite. I haven't been able to resolve it. I'd suggest you call Furrion customer support at +1 800 789 3341.

Jim- I scoured the internet as well and found nothing. In the Furrion thermostat guide (part of the owners' packet we received), the only mention of "dry" mode is to tell me there is no fan speed selection. I'll give them a call.

            Thank you-

            Steve

Hi Scott Barlag, I've left a voicemail, sent an email, and filled out Furrion's online technical support form. I'm still waiting to hear back. I'll post something as soon as I hear back.

                Thank you-

I would be very interested to find out any info on the Dry Mode, I have a 2020 GD Imagine 2970RL and I just installed a second AC unit in the bedroom an Atwood Air Command 13,500 ducted AC, came with its own pre-wired thermostat that has Dry Mode on it. So no info in the instructions on this mode assume it is for dehumidifying but at what temp does it cut off?

Did some research on the Dry Mode function and the following link seems to have the best explanation: https://www.av2day.com/2016/02/a-new...n-to-dry-mode/

I contacted GDRV who got in touch with Furrion. Here's what they came up with:

"Dry Mode: Runs the compressor continuously when the room temperature is higher than the temperature set-point. When the room temperature is lower than the temperature set-point, the compressor cycles on for 10 minutes and off for 6 minutes to maintain your desired temperature."

So it seems to me that the compressor is operating on a timer schedule instead of temperature control in the dry mode". This appears to me to be causing the temperature to continue to drop.

Thanks Jim! I still haven't heard back from Furrion after leaving info on their website, voicemail, and email. I sincerely appreciate you reaching out to GDRV and resolving this.

For future reference here is a common manual for the furrion ac unit: http://docplayer.net/177012274-Singl...hermostat.html this is for the FACW12SA controller. It did take a bit of digging around to find it. Dry mode is on page 9.

Same problem here. When set to dry mode , temperature continues to drop, no matter what I set the thermostat temperature to.
