  • OneConnect and HVAC

    Hello all,
New Grand Design 303RLS owner here as of Tuesday. The answer is slowly dawning on me but I am holding out hope that I'm wrong. Our previous rig was a Keystone Cougar which uses the InCommand system. In that rig, we were able to control the HVAC with the their app. I've installed OneConnect and added extra modules such as the TireLinc TPMS, but I do not see that the HVAC is controlled via the app. Please tell me I'm missing something or that it can be added.

Thanks in advance. Looking forward to hearing about these units.

howson I don't think GD used the Unity board with HVAC controls in the 303's. Howard (tagged) is a bit more of an knowledgeable source on the Unity boards. I believe some of the Momentums had HVAC control via the app.

As for adding it, that would be a call to Lippert.

You might be able to upgrade the thermostats to something like https://www.airxcel.com/rv/coleman-m...th-thermostats or https://www.microair.net/pages/easyt...select-a-brand

Your 303RLS has a Unity X1.5 board. That board supports (some) of the lights, awning retraction and extension, and slides.

Unfortunately there's no capability in that board to add functionality or expand the system to control your HVAC systems.

If there's further details that will help fire away with the questions.

We also had a Keystone Cougar with the InCommand system and were quite surprised that the OneConnect system is so limited in its functionality, compared to the InCommand system. In researching options for remote control of our Coleman Mach HVAC units, the only solution I found is either replace the wall remotes with Bluetooth enabled remotes
        https://www.airxcel.com/rv/coleman-m...th-thermostats
        or Bluetooth enabled ceiling assemblies
        https://www.airxcel.com/rv/coleman-m...iling-assembly
Then you need to install the Airxcel Climate app. IMO, there are too many separate apps currently required to run and monitor the systems.
