  • Furnace won’t stay lit

Furnace won’t stay lit. Comes on with igniter but when igniter quits popping so does the heat. New solitude 1 month old. Been living in it full time. Heater was working last night. Hooked up to power. Full of propane. Any suggestions?

Most likely the control board is bad. It appears the furnace is going through the normal steps, but not detecting a flame.

Why? A type of failure frequently seen.

Why not the igniter, it isn’t staying lit? Igniters seldom fail, I replace a lot of control boards, and seldom replace an igniter. This year i’ve replaced one igniter and probably 20 control boards.

      Things it probably isn’t:

Gas valve - it is opening or there wouldn’t be a flame.

Sail switch - if the sail switch is bad the furnace will not try to ignite.

Limit switch - same as the sail switch.
