Hey everyone. I'm looking to get some tank heating pads for my gray and black tanks on my 2017 Reflection 303rls. I'm planning to order the Facon ones from Amazon. I would like to have them before I drop the belly so I can get them in place and not have to leave the belly off or deal ith it twice.

Tank heaters will not protect the piping systems from freezing. You need to run the propane furnace for this . . . or install electric forced air heating. See post 6 in this thread. https://gdrvowners.com/forum/operati...nk-heater-amps

Specifically I am concerned about our 3 week stay at the Steamboat KOA for skiing next month. We will be in Denver/SLC/Truckee otherwise, where I am not very worried.Matt, Mercedes, and Sabrina the dog.

A few thoughts:
As others have pointed out in many threads on this forum, the more water in the tanks the longer it will take for the water to freeze. So, charge the tanks with more water than normal after draining.
The key elements of the holding tank and drain system, from an operation and maintenance point of view, are the drain valves. Locate the heating pads close to the drain valves to help insure they stay functional.
As noted above, the heating pads will most likely be smaller than the bottom of the tank. They will, however, be supplying heat to help offset the loss of heat due to freezing ambient temperatures. How much heat the pads put out is a function of the pad wattage, not necessarily its square inches.John
