  • Winterizing

I am getting good at winterizing my 29rs which stays in Colorado. Reversing the screen (to open the check valve) makes the pump siphon great. I can winterize with about 2.5 gals of antifreeze.

When I go to drain the low point drains I never get any water only antifreeze (or the water is such a small amount that I can't see it). Do you think it's really necessary to drain them?

On a side note: I also remembered to run some through my WaterPik so it wouldn't freeze.......

We also have to remember the spray port on the back of our campers, very important.

I have installed some valves on the low point drains for draining a little antifreeze out when all done. I also have not reversed the cone when winterizing and the process has been good.

I would open the low point drains just in case there is a enough water in them to cause a problem. The antifreeze will need to be drained in the spring anyway and has already done its job clearing the water.
