I think you’re right. Hopefully I can be the first one in the queue Monday morning.

Hopefully you get what you need from Grand Design Customer Service. If not, to save your camping trip, you can buy a pump at any RV store . . . even a Walmart. At worst, you end up with a spare pump.

There is a check valve on the inlet side of the pump. I am not sure if it is removable or not but you could carefully check that the ball is movable, use something that will not damage the ball to see if it moves.

Unfortunately, I’m not near any RV stores or Walmart. I did phone the nearest Walmart (and several other possible stores) and none carry a water pump for an RV.

Spent some time with the pump on the picnic table today. The check valve is spring operated on the outlet side. Seems to be functional. I was able to blow through the whole assembly anyway.

I’m at a complete loss as to what’s wrong. Hopefully I can get assistance from GD on Monday.

There is an rv dealer (happen to be a GD rep) we may be able to get to on Tuesday, but it’ll be about two hours out of our way on our travel day. They’re closed today, so can’t call yet.

While you had it out did you try to use it to syphon out of a bucket"? Eliminates the RV connections.

If it works that may provide some direction to go next.

timh0042 when you blew through the pump was that from inlet to outlet? You should not be able to blow through outlet to inlet. The internal check valve should prevent that.

Thanks. I read through the manual earlier. I didn’t feel comfortable taking it too far apart. I didn’t know what it would tell me or how to know what is/isn’t right with it.

Spoke to GD this morning. They’re willing to send a pump, but can’t get it to us in time while still on this trip.

We’re going to head to an RV dealer on our travel day tomorrow and they’ve got a pump for us. Hopefully that fixes the problem.

                          Hi Tim,

Good to learn that you have a plan that will salvage your current travels .
You will have a spare pump . . . which, as we all know . . . means you will never have another another pump problem!
