I would think the flex/soft hose is just fine. Used properly with correct fittings and valves. An argument could be made that the hose being flexible is better than pex for RV applications. Think slides. But finding PB fittings and valves etc is difficult as they are not as plentiful at stores.

If you need to have leak proof connections between Pex and hose . . . see post 22 for how to make these. Be prepared to occasionally give the clamp on the hose side a slight tightening. Hose secured with a fixed diameter crimped ring eventually leaks because the hose deforms and squeezes out from under the ring.

All Pex is the worry free permanent solution . . .

Yes Rob, i made up half a dozen of those connectors like you show in post#22. I just don't think I can easily remove all the flexible hose and replace with PEX. I will attempt to eliminate as much as possible before it leaks again. So infuriating that we have to do this!

After multiple leaks in our 2021 3100RD, I spent the afternoon yesterday eliminating all the soft hose and plastic parts with PEX.
No leaks and seems rigid and strong.
All off the shelf parts from Menards.

I just had a line burst on my reflection. Am I understanding correctly that you can replace the soft water lines with pex and use the original fittings? The original fittings are already pex?

That is correct. I did that on my 297RSTS when I changed out some of the soft hose. They are plastic so some people change them for brass.

If you're already opening up the plumbing, I'd recommend changing the plastic fittings for brass.

May as well replace the plastic pex fittings with brass while doing hose replacement.
