  • Sheared Screws swintech slide bracket

Just got back from caping and on the trip the bottoms right corner of the slide out sounded rough going out. As my wife was deep cleaning she found a screw head sheared off. After further inspection, all 3 screws on the bracket going into the metal vertical slide piece sheared off and on off the screws going into the wall. So now that corner moves around when coming in and out. The trailer is coming up on owning for 21 months, so I think this is out of warranty….as any one tried replacing the metal vertical pieces that the motors sit in or should i try to go down the warranty route/pay out of pocket?

Those are the "z" brackets that help hold the Schwintek mechanism in place. You could possibly drill new holes in the bracket and rail to put new screws in, but my question would be what caused it to torque enough to shear off in the first place. You also could try to remove the sheared screws off with an ez out or similar and go with a larger screw to ensure it bites properly, but again the same question will remain.
