Where does this rubber ring belong?

Cate&Rob how do you clean your slide out gears? Lippert has always said soap and warm water. Do you lubricate the gears?

I lubricate the drive mechanism inner tube (where this "floating" seal is) and the alignment gear axles with Teflon spray. I don't lubricate the gear teeth to the alignment racks. Early on, I had a lot of squealing as the slides were retracting. Grand Design techs lubricated the system as described until the squeal went away and I maintain this every few months.
