Getting caught up on this thread this sure looks like a quality piece to save a shredded side of an RV. The Fender is 14 ga. steel, .075" thick, pretty heavy duty. The backing plate is 1/8" thick steel, really heavy duty. This should hold up against a tire failure for sure. I would be curious though to the size of bolts needed to attach, this may be the weak point. Weigh may be an issue as well, I do not see a weight for each unit. These would certainly also help with road debris, rocks and such. Mud flaps might be a good addition to the rear fender. The price may be high but compared to the cost of damage that could result may be a moot point.
