I have 6000 miles on my 2018 Solitude. Per recommendation I have it in the shop right now getting the wheel bearings packed (every 2 years). Unfortunately the shop just called to tell me the brake pads are down to the bare metal and have warn into the hubs. I am very shocked by this. Do pads on these trailers really wear out that quickly? Seems very odd to me that this should happen after only 6000 miles, particularly since the pads are now so badly warn that even the hubs have been compromised.

Is it possible that you towed the Solitude with the break-away brake apply cable pulled? This is the only way (that I have seen) that there could be this much wear in that low mileage. At the last National Rally, a Solitude arrived with exactly this condition from this cause.

However, I can also testify to encountering super-high pressure salespeople that were willing to say anything to get us to "buy today". One guy we ran into didn't give a hoot about what was right for us--he just wanted a sale. Not my first rodeo by a long stretch, so I just politely said "not going to happen" and "thank you for your time" and walked away. The guy literally chased us the entire length of the parking lot. (My wife is much more polite than I am and engaged the guy. I just ignored him at that point.)
Another dealer actually backed out of a deal we had in writing to buy a 315RLTS because they'd found someone willing to pay more for the trailer on their lot. No kidding. (I documented the time my wife and I met the couple that bought "our" trailer at an interstate rest stop. Talk about a small world...) That's why I ended up buying from Campers Inn (and had a wonderful experience).
Bottom line--thanks for being a part of this forum. Your willingness to help shows there are "good guys" (male and female!) in the business.
