  • Suspension System, Distance between Wheels

I recently purchased in Jun a 2021 Momentum 25G, after a few trips of 1500 miles or so I noticed a tremendous amount of noise (clanking, pops, creaking) coming suspension system. mostly when I'm turning slow , backing up, using the jack to raise or lower the trailer. I had someone at a gas station come over and mention it to me saying I needed to check. Not my first trailer and I'm use to some noise but not this much. I brought it over to the dealer for some other warranty work and I mentioned to the service manager. They fixed the other issues and said they couldn't find anything wIth the camber or anything else, also had somewhat if an issue when I went to put my X chocks in on the passenger side they slide in and I expanded but on the driver side it was almost impossible.

I saw some postings on the GD FB forum about upgrading to Morryde system with wet bolts. I decide to order the parts and took a measurement of the wheel distances (33 or 35 in ). The driver side is 33 inches but the passenger side is 33 1/2. Anyone know if that is within tolerances? Will the 1/2 inch difference affect the ride, tracking and pull of the vehicle? Perhaps causing all the noice? I moved my Hensley hitch over from my other trailer so sway is really not noticeable but I suspect that because of the hitch. Appreciate any ideas or previous experience

    Welcome NYSAAO!

Yes, the 33 and 33-1/2" readings are normal and do not indicate a problem. If you were to move it to a different location or change the weight loading on that side of the axle, it would change. I think your plan to install the MorRyde parts is a good one, and one of the first mods I did to my trailer.

Thanks Jim, I suspected as much but I figured I'd ask. The list of mods I want to do is getting long, I may have to go back to full time work
