  • testing propane line for leaks

I'm adding a hose run from the aux port on our Imagine 2600RB so I can run propane to our dual fuel inverter. I have all the hardware and want to pressure check for leaks. My question can I use low pressure air from a compressor to test for leaks. I'd prefer to use air rather than propane. Anyone familiar or have experience with doing something like this?

There is nothing wrong with soap testing your lines with the propane turned on. You can use low pressure air but you would need to take the time to make up the fittings which could introduce more leaks once you convert back to connect your tanks.

A snoop type bottle with a soap solution is a great way to find small leaks.

For the propane-from-electricity discussion (that took this thread OT) see https://gdrvowners.com/forum/operati...y-from-propane

I've used this from Amazon for about a year now and it works great. Good way to tell if you're not getting the line on the bottle tight enough, ask me how I know lol.

I like that tool. I guess I need to get a bigger tool box.
I always thought they would be more expensive than that.
