The Mopeka Tank check sensors are very popular

It's a little ultrasonic sensor that goes on the bottom of your tank, and displays the propane level on your smartphone.

It's also worth getting the halo ring. It's a rubber spacer that replaced the little aluminum one's that come with the sensors. The aluminum one just plane suck, they fall off, they break.

X2 on the Halo ring. With the rubber ring, the sensor is just off the surface when you set the tank on concrete.

Last time I had to swap b/c the previous time they gave me an old tank and I didn't notice it... my bad

2 weeks later I went to use the tank and it felt low... hmmm, well since I had another tank to fill, I took them both, to a different location and the "new" swapped tank took 2.4 gals...

It was an Amerigas tank, I wrote them about how unhappy I was to put 2.4 gal in that newly swapped tank, their response.......................................... ......

IMHO, Never swap unless your tank is out of date
