  • 2016 397TH not solar prep, where is best place to drop PV line

Ok so the 397TH for 2016 is not solar prepped. I looked at the space between my entry to the bedroom and the wall which is about 6" in length. I pulled back the panel and I see a possible good place to make my drop but it seems to be in-line (right under) the air duct. Where should I attempt to make my PV drop?

Welcome, thervbeard, to Grand Design's Owners' (Technical) Forum. A great place to find information here is to start with the Welcome Letter to New Members at https://gdrvowners.com/forum/main-fo...to-new-members

For your specific question: the duct you identified is the air conditioning "racetrack" that runs the entire length of the RV. Definitely do not want to poke a hole in that duct!

Two possibilities for you...but keep in mind I'm "just an owner" like you and don't claim any expertise on the 397th

The bathroom setup looks similar to the 337RLS' and they are both 5th wheels--so take a look at https://gdrvowners.com/forum/solar/3...s-solar-wiring

The front closet on the 397TH is close to my 315RLTS' closet configuration. I ran the wires down the wall separating the bedroom and closet--but it was close to a rafter. Some investigation will be required to see if this is possible in yours, too by pulling down the paneling inside the closet--not fun. See https://gdrvowners.com/forum/solar/1...n-2019-315rlts

P.S. Please report back what you end up doing! The power of an owner's forum is the sharing of information.
