Update. I went to Menards and found a three pack of calking tube extensions for less than 6 dollars. Worked out pretty good. Now I can sleep better...

Looks like to me that is an old batch perhaps beyond the shelf life or, could have been frozen in the tube sometime in its life. Just speculation....Leave a comment:

How to remove round ceiling A/C vent
I've tried to unsnap the rotating part of the vent to get to what I assume are screws attaching the assembly but I just can't seem to get it unsnapped...
