  • Lug Nut Wrench / Socket Size?

We have a 2021 Momentum 376THS-R and I'm putting my tool kit together. Can someone tell me what size socket I need? Thank you.

Should be 3/4" (or 19mm) and be sure to use 6 point socket not 12 point to avoid damage to lug nut.

Get a non-marring socket of the appropriate size. Keeps your wheels looking better.

Usually ti will be a black socket, also called impact socket. The socket metal is softer and has some give. Chrome sockets can shatter to the point you were looking at a claymore just before it exploded.

These flip sockets in 6 point are perfect for changing a tire, and the 6 point socket will not destroy the tin cover on the lug nut. I discovered the lug nuts on my Imagine were a different size than the lug nut on the spare so this type of socket would work well if a flat was ever encountered.

3/4" for lugs is the most popular fit.

              Dave,

My Imagine takes one size for the tire and another for the spare.

Gotcha. I carry my spare in the bed of the TV because I mounted an additional 5x5 PVC piece usually used for a vertical fence post below the OEM tank drain holder (bumper) and added two caps. So I no longer have a spare tire mount attached to the rear bumper but I've gained an additional space to carry at least two 10 foot sections of stinky slinky taking me to at least 40 total feet while not adding enough weight to be concerned with. Schiefswret You could not space the fence post down with a couple of blocks to keep the spare tire? Not certain how your spare tire mount was, but my bumper mount spare tires were just U bolts around the tubing so a couple of 3/4" spacers would have given me ample room to leave the carrier.

I did remove the carrier and put the tire in the front compartment of the previous 5er b/c we needed the extra 1' for walk room in the driveway between the unit and the house. This let me hook the truck to the trailer the day before (truck front bumper is at the edge of the road).

I’d prefer the two pcs to be flush and I like the idea of the weight of the spare tire not being on the rear of the RV anyway so it all worked out.
