I think they make a bolt on style just for this , maybe if the memory serves me which after this week may be a little off.

      I can only imagine lol.

Yeah when I looked into it I found a company that made them that went out of business, there might be more now. I can say (YMMV) that I’ve toyed mine on the back probably over 15,000 miles all across the country with no issue.

Saw this on the GD Owners Modifications Facebook group. Someone put a bike rack inside on top of the lowered dinette. He made it removable. “Finished the bike rack in the wrap around dinette. 2020 28BH. Had one of these in our old camper and have missed it ever since we upgraded. The larger dinette allow me to leave the front wheel on each bike now. Just grabbed some cheap bike racks and some 2x4s and screwed it together.”

my wife says no, doesn’t want dirt brought inside :-)

I would like to get one that the bikes stand up on.

              Brian,

Our model has a pin to pull to tilt the rack downward. It may be this feature that adds too much play in the system.

Mine has the pin as well , I think it was replaced with a bolt by the original owner. I use a couple bungee straps to hold it nice and tight to the receiver.

Mine has a pin as well, as does the replacement I ordered. A necessity on mine since I have storage back there.

I know they make an ad on to add a third bike but it is not RV rated. Has anyone tried it?

We have two additional trays so we can carry four bikes, but we do not do that on the back of the RV

                        thanks Andi,

there are times I would like to take a second bike and the durability of the 1UP USA rack seems to be substantial enough for this but company will only agree that 2 are RV compliant.

                          Neil,

I'm only speculating on the pin where any additional play in the system could cause impact loading to the pin and bike rack. I did not get any information from Thule in what makes my bike rack unsuitable for the back of an RV.

Yeah I wonder if they’re just covering themselves because they don’t want to be liable. I ordered my new one and we’ll be taking it out to Utah in April once I get my rig back so we’ll see lol.

This is a great bike rack that is RV approved, and won’t break the bank. I use it on the back of my Reflection 5th wheel carrying 2 bikes.

This design does not incorporate the tilt feature so there is no play in the system. Also this rack does not use the rubber gummies (old slip on type) that retain the bikes on my unapproved Thule rack. The positive clamps of this rack would certainly be stronger.
