  • Kreg Drive Bit = Robertson Square Bit

Need a long Robertson (square) bit when working on the RV? Consider picking up a Kreg bit at your local hardware store. Not too expensive and works great.

Yoda Everything. Those long drive bits are designed to fit down in the pocket screw holes, but tend to have a better tip than some of the other ones. Longer bits like that are nice because you can put them directly in the driver and minimize the number of joints that allow for out of alignment.

I had a short set similar to these: https://www.task-tools.com/index.php...-bit-bulk.html they outlasted the normal ones 5:1 because the tip is extra hard vs the cheap bulk pack ones.

Removing the microwave screws is much easier with this long bit and a power drill. (I was doing the Refrigerator Power Switch mod.) Torque on the drill set to 1 on reinstall as I've learned through hard experience that screws get snugged on an RV, not tightened.

The long bit is much easier to use in most cases because it keeps the tool back out of the way. Better view and fewer obstructions.

Thanks Joseph Ill have to get one, or better yet get the full Kreg kit. Maybe Fathers day???

I was just trying to find out if Howard howson was working on something that is going to cost me $$$$ again Others seem to be doing that today (Lippert step attachment)

Well out to work on getting my bar stock to fit the switch and Lynx power in - more holes to drill and connections to be made.
