So I bought a case from Harbor Freight, the pump to match the one in my trailer and some hose and fittings. I also have a 120v to 12v converter I store in the case cause since I was lazy and didn't want mount a 12v connector by my Nautilus and it does have a 120v outlet.

I use a vinyl hose to put into the collapsible container and attach to the inlet and a short stainless hose on the outlet to attach to the nautilus. Click image for larger version

So - trying to follow in your footsteps. /disclaimer - I am not a plumber.

Purchased the pump that is identical to my rig. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010TKMK4O...roduct_details
I have a couple of hard cases that used to be used for tape backups and other things that will work very well I think.

Tonight, I spent the last 2.5 hours at Lowe's and Home Depot. Wasn't able to find anything for the first 2 connections that would work. My problem is it is hard enough to find something that matches the threading, but then looking for an elbow on top of that. It is 1/2" but I am having trouble finding something that will properly thread to it. The best I found was a 1/2" to 3/4" garden hose female (green bag - brass connector) OR a 1/2" CPVC that then required actual PVC and gluing the next PVC part in place.

    Here is the manufacturer's website:
    https://www.pentair.com/en-us/produc...pass-pump.html

On that page there is a download spec sheet. The Ports are: "1/2"-14 NPSM-Male"
    https://www.pentair.com/content/dam/...08-131-X65.pdf

I would prefer to use PEX or a vinyl hose as you did. Also prefer to keep it 1/2" at least until the end. Prefer Brass>Plastic. On the exterior either want a reinforced vinyl hose or maybe a 3/4" garden host male end so I can hook up existing clean water hoses to it.

I did find this on Amazon after hours at Lowe's and Home Depot. https://www.amazon.com/Brennan-1501-...0373195&sr=8-2

I think that would work on the pump and it gets me a 90/elbow. Only 1 in stock at Amazon - need 2. Also, not sure what the NPTF Male 1/2" is....and what I would have to do from there....I may be done for the night. /smile

If you have a parts list - it may help me and others.

Here are the elbows that I used to fasten to the pump.

      https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The AC to 12V converter cause I was too lazy to add a 12V port in the area and I had a 110 plug.

      https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

      The power socket

      https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cig lighter cord to use with the converter and power socket.

      https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

For the case fittings, it was a 1/2 MIP to 3/4 MGT (garden hose) thru the case wall to a 1/2 barb to 1/2" FIP.

      https://www.menards.com/main/plumbin...775885&ipos=80

The inbound hose to go in the 5 gal jug is just clear vinyl with nothing on one end and a Female barbed garden hose on the other where it fastens to the pump case.

For the case to coach connection I use a stainless washing machine hose (your choice on length).

I also have Female garden hose caps to put on the inbound and outbound fittings when not in use to keep bugs and such out.

And standard equipment in my goodie bag is some Fem to Fem and Male to Male garden adapters just in case.

      Hope this helps.

trkester -- finally got around to copying your pump case idea. It's fantastic! No more messing with the goofy ladder setup I had to deal with previously to get water into the tank (in a dry camp environment) and I don't have to disassemble any of my city water connection setup.

So this post is just to say "thanks!" for the idea. Very happy with the results.

What's not shown is I chose to hold the pump in place using two strips of VHB tape. That negated having to poke holes in the bottom of the case. I can't explain why that's important...just a design choice.

The cap is off the left, or front (output) port just to show what it looks like. When stored the cap is installed as shown on the input (right, or rear) side.

Looks great. Glad to hear it was a worthwhile idea. And nice documentation/demonstration.

trkester A clever idea where I have to make one of these up. We dry camp in early spring and late fall and this pump will be valuable.

howson Howard, thank you for additional info on your build.

I saw this on another place. (I thought I saw it here to be honest) I'm not sure how this will play out with the Nautilus panel (Since I think you do winterization from the same panel as the water intake)
              1. Find a thread that matches your winterization hose, and use it to extend the hose outside of the TT. Run this hose to your water supply. (5 gallon clear container)
              2. Flip the winterization valve
              3. put a hose on the end of the spray port
              4. put this hose into the appropriate place to fill your tank. (Imagines, could use the gravity fill, or run to the City/Tank fill connector)
              5. Turn on water pump

On the Nautilus setting it to "Sanitize" could work since it uses the pump to put water in the potable water tank.

Two reasons I'll use the external pump:
                1) I carry the pump anyway (spare) so now it has a purpose other than just taking up space
                2) Too much "stuff" between the Nautilus' City Water inlet and where I actually connect a hose (meter, filter, shutoff valve, diverter, quick-connects, etc) that I don't want to disassemble.

In addition, pushing the water through the system (versus pulling) I'm guessing reduces the likelihood of an issue with overcoming the resistance of the City Water inlet valve ( a common problem when winterizing or sanitizing).

The idea has merit Mike, and would be an easy way to add water if it worked. If the water container was higher than the City Water inlet (thus using gravity) I'd guess it will work.

I love it...well done. I already have the spare pump so added this to my spring-time project list.

If you guys are using gravity feed to fill your fresh tanks and want a fast way to get them filled up, consider putting a wake boat ballast bag and aerator pump setup in your truck bed. They'll empty a 75 gallon water bladder in about 3 minutes and the bags fold up and weigh hardly anything when empty.

I haven't tried this yet but plan to this summer when doing some off-grid camping

howson Howard, you should try pumping with the spare pump and pulling with the on board. this might help speed things up.

That could work with the Nautilus in Sanitize mode. You DO like to think outside the box, Joseph!
