  • Milwaukee M18 cordless Tire Inflator review (2848-20)

My review of the Milwaukee portable, battery powered compressor:

Cons: CFM numbers aren't impressive - Takes time to inflate large tires. Does not have separate tank. Uses batteries quick.
Pros: Very portable. 4 preset memory. Up to 150 PSI. accurate pressure readings. Very easy to use.

I have a Viair 450P-RV. I didn't like having to connect to a battery each time I needed to use it, and it isn't as portable as I wanted. Because I already have multiple Milwaukee M18 tools, I decided to give the "Tire Inflator" a try. It is slower than the Viair, but I prefer the Milwaukee. It is so easy to use, so portable. Can take it anywhere, use it anytime for almost anything.

So, the Viair will be sold and the Milwaukee will stay.

For anybody running 18V Makita tools . . . their version works equally well.

I recently bought the Milwaukee M18 inflator on a Home Depot promotion 2 - 5ah batteries and charger 199 get inflator for free. First use my truck tires were 6lbs low set inflator to 65 lbs .took 90 seconds to fill . A very acceptable time. Tires checked 65 lbs with tire gage. Easy to use and small enough for me to carry in trailer.

Anybody have numbers on tire fill vs. batteries used? Any of them have the option of directly using vehicle 12V if the battery goes?

I looked at the Makita last year, but the rep said he thought a new one was coming out. He told me I could bring a tire to try their annual blow out at a local very large Makita dealer next week, but I’m going to be out of town.

Milwaukee: inflating three 275/70 R18 tires (truck) from 55 PSI to 70/72 PSI ran a 3.0AH battery from 100% to about 25%. Put in another battery for the last tire.

Inflating four 225/75 R15 trailer tires from 65 PSI to 80 PSI ran a 4.0AH battery from 100% to about 75%.

            Hope that helps
