There is no list that I have seen. The pin box relates to Lippert, they make the frames, so whatever is approved by Lippert is what I would go by. What I have heard is, other than stock, Morryde, Reese goosebox, and anything made by Lippert. There is also a rumor that Lippert is in the process of building their own goose box. This question has be posed to Lippert on their Facebook page and Lippert is supposedly going to answer this, been waiting for a few days for that.

I don’t frequent the forum as much as I’d like but I like to peruse the pin box discussions. I find it interesting Lippert replied with endorse and not approve in regards to the Reese Goosebox. Might be over thinking it……

Gentleman from Lippert asked if I looking to switch to a gooseneck and they only endorse the Reese Gooseneck. When I asked about the Morryde pin box his reply was
If it was not factory installed,
then we would only advise on
either a Lippert Pinbox or the
          Reese Goosebox. But

I called Lippert when I made the switch to the Morryde pin box for the 303rls. They said it would be fine.

I was really trying to point out that they never use the word approve………advise or endorse is not the same as approve and I doubt they ever will because then they couldn’t use it as an out.

I’m on my own anyway, I use a GenY

Interesting and guess it doesn’t really surprise me. Depends on who you talk to. How do you like the Morryde pin box?

I really think it has made a big improvement with the chucking I was experiencing when going over bridge joints (don’t know term). We have a Demco Recon hitch and the pivoting head works with the design of the rubber pinbox, they don’t fight each other. I asked about the Anderson hitch and also the sumo springs and got a “we do NOT approve”.

I have the Morryde rubber pinbox and I'm not really happy with it as it does nothing for reducing the up-down shock and motion on the RV hookup - just forward and back. I am going to change it out for the Curt Flex Air. After a lot of research, I think it is the best pinbox available for all directions shock absorption. Lippert owns Curt so naturally "approves" it. Two downsides - it is more expensive (+$300 give or take and about 80 lbs. heavier). I'm not concerned about the weight as it all sits on the hitch and I have some excess payload capacity. The cost is negligible when compared to the overall financial sinkhole of RV ownership.

I've always heard that a boat is a hole in the water you pour money into. That has not been my experience. I think an RV is a hole in the UNIVERSE you pour money into.

I also looked at the Gen-Y and while I think it would work, it specifically is not approved by Lippert (of course not, it competes with their pinbox). You may wind up going with the Morryde but at least take a look at the Lippert (Curt) Flex Air before you decide.

Thank you for your reply. Not many have upgraded to the Morryde and the few that have said they liked it. I put the horse before the cart and bought the Morryde pin box. Couldn’t pass it up for $80 brand new and figured if I dont use it I can resell it

I don't have vertical issues and would be worried that the air box allows for more vertical inputs than a fixed box. I was having minor issues with the chucking for and aft in certain situations. The rubber box has eliminated these.

Will find out more this summer when I actually get to drag the camper with the new truck and hitch setup.

Our new to. Us 2021 397TH per brochures came with the moryde pinbox. I've now towed it twice on 600mi RT and connected to our AirSafe hitch with 4 airbags & 2 shocks it seemed to work ok. Our other rv had a standard extended box but was much lighter in wieght so no real comparison.
I'm in the group that believes the airride style hitch is the way to go instead of pinbox replacement.

I just finished watching a series of YouTube videos that BigTruck Big Rv did on Lippert frame flex issues. Very informational. Now I see why GD and Lipert go back and forth on who is responsible when things start to flex. Any changes to pin box that change the torque on the upper frame can ultimately result in problems down the road. I highly recommend watching the full series.

There is a list, not for the 337 specifically, but for Lippert chassis.
