If you're new to the TSD Fuel Card (as I still consider myself new, too), the math is kind of confusing.
At the pump the total will be the advertised price at the station. For example, today at a Pilot the advertised price (and what showed on the pump) was $2.959/gallon. What the EFS app showed later was 2.244/gallon. The bill reflects I pumped 28.070 gallons for a total of $63. (They must round up since the math says $62.99?)
What's confusing is this reflects 100% of the discount. EFS will keep 10% of the discount, so instead of seeing $63 drafted from my account it will be ~$65, since the discount was $20.06 off the advertised price. (We don't get to keep all of the discount--only 90% of it.)
Confused yet?
When the "statement" comes in by email it's formatted for an accountant, but with a little applied brain power it's not too hard to figure out.
Bottom line: just remember that the price you see in the PRICE LOCATOR section of their app is the full discounted price. You'll pay just a bit more.
One more thought on the subject--USE THE PRICE LOCATOR feature in the EFS App! At a Love's Travel Stop in Florida the Price Locator showed $2.129. At a Love's on I-85 in Georgia the price per gallon was $3.949. No kidding. I skipped that Love's and went to the Pilot down the road for the 2.244 mentioned earlier.
