  • Husky Centreline weight distribution hitch

Hello. Hope everyone is healthy and well. I just recently converted from a fifth wheel to a conventional. I am looking at purchasing a Husky Centreline weight distribution hitch with sway control for my new 2020 Imagine 2450RL. Tongue weight is in the 580 lb range. Looking at the 600 to 800 lb bars for the unit, as recommended by the RV dealer. My tow vehicle is a F150. I have found no mention in this forum about the Husky brand of hitches. Does anybody have an opinion or experience with this product. I am not finding much negative comment online, so I am thinking I won't be disappointed with this choice. Would appreciate your input. Thanks. Moe

    Hi Moe,

580 lbs is the empty trailer estimated tongue weight. I can’t help you with your hitch question, but I do know that your tongue weight will be well above 580 lbs with batteries, propane and loaded for camping.

I agree with Rob , the 2450RL tongue weight could be as much as 1000# or even more if fully loaded to capacity. If you are just weekend camping and keep the weight down you may be ok with 800# bars but would use at least 1000# bars and probably get 1200# bars just to be on the safe side.

Thank You. What you are saying makes perfect sense. I will upgrade the bars. That's good advice. Thanks.
