New to this forum and soon I will accept delivery of a 2021 Imagine XLS 22MLE. We just love the layout and the quality of this TT. But, I have a 2018 F150 XLT 4x4, 2.7l Ecoboost with the 3.55 rear and 20" tires. My GVWR is 6500#. My payload is 1379#. I really don't want to trade up for an F250. I checked at the dealer and I would literally take a bath if I traded my truck in. It's just the 2 of us, about 275# plus what ever else we want to load up. I read and calculated for the last several weeks and it appears this TT may be a little too big for my truck. However, the Ford dealer and the trailer dealer both said I should be fine as long as I don't max out the TT GVWR (6995#). Any thoughts?

Can I tow the Imagine 22MLE?

Yea I agree with both dealers, it should work. My Nissan Titan has a CCC of only 1488#'s. I'm towing a 2600rb with just me and Mrs skreef. The 2600rb is a bit heavier than a XLS 22MLE and I only have an extra extra 108# payload capacity. Like me you'll be close to the limits of your truck but with a properly adjusted WDH it should work.Charles and Susan

The best advice is a trip to the scales and see where your weight is actually at.

I would agree with ckreef . I think this should be doable if you are not full timing and loading the trailer with everything you have. Try to keep your weights at the limits and definitely move to LT tires as mentioned above. Take the unit to the scales and see what that tells you.
Enjoy and welcome to the technical forum. You will get plenty of advice on this subject here.

Ford puts LTC or LTE tires on the factory F150 HDPP (Heavy Duty Payload Package). Several owners have reported towing stability improvement by upgrading the standard “Passenger Car” tires to the light truck tires. This allows you to run tire pressures in the 50 psi range. The next step would be rear suspension airbags. Airlift makes kits that are custom fit for different models. One kit also has an onboard compressor for automatically controlling airbag pressure.

Best thing to do is go to the scales. To make it simple download WeighMyTruck app from CAT, no need to go inside building. Several good YouTube videos. You will need 3 weighs, once done plug your numbers into this calculator, results will be at the bottom

Good luck, I hope you can make it work. It’s a nice trailer and we really like the openness, plus it fits in my driveway!2010 Tundra SR5 DC 5.7L

He has the 2.7 EB F-150 like yours & 22mle. He recently went camping and loaded up his truck and trailer then visited the CAT scales. Two adults, 2/3rds fresh water, full gas, full LP, lots of tools, geny, food/clothes for 5 days, large cooler of beer. Tools, geny, & cooler in the truck. Truck came in at 6080#, trailer at 5960#, tongue weight 760# using husky centerline 800-1200 bars.
Still recommend you go to the scales with your set up but maybe you can private message him for further details.

I had a F150 3.5 EB. Switching to LT tires made a big difference, they took out the squishy - squirmy feeling when towing. The unloaded ride was a lot harsher though.
We tow a 2650. I was 200# over on the rear axle and gross. I could have spec'd out a new F150 that would work but opted for a F250. Due to Covid, we cancelled our 6-week trip in April & won't get out until July.2017 Imagine 2650 & 2019 F-250 (Got tired of the F-150)

I appreciate all responses. Plan to go to the scales Friday morning with the trailer loaded up for a weekend camp. Now, my first weighing (A) will be the truck and trailer with the WDH bars engaged. This will give me the combined weight of the truck and trailer plus weight on each axel? Then my 2nd weighing (B), I will remove the WDH bars and put in the back of the pickup and then get the same weights, Steers, Drives and Trailer. Then Unhook trailer and weigh truck? I have that weight from a previous weigh (full tank and just me). How do I figure out tongue weight? Is this correct method?John and Lori

When you get on scales your front axel , rear axel , and trailer axels should all be on sperate scales. When you weigh just the truck you will have front and rear on separate scales. Subtract the rear axels weights and this will give you the tongue weight.
