I haven’t seen one yet that works very well, most require an odd combination of flashing the turn signals and pressing dash buttons. Naviks seems to be the best of the bad options.

If you haven't read my review, check out this post: https://gdrvowners.com/forum/exterio...7701#post17701

I use mine literally every time I drive my truck. Even today going up I-75 without the camper I turned on the tailgate camera as it gives me much better situational awareness of what's going on around me. (Anyone who has driven I-75 in Georgia and/or down through Florida understands the need!)

Check out Nav TV, think the kit for the Ford is COD-F50, I have it installed on my F350 and allows me to use the ford trailer camera while going down the rd. Also the other truck cameras as well while moving.

I have the Naviks installed on my 2019 F-250. I have no issues with it, works well, not complicated to activate some of the functions. The Sync 3 GPS loses functionality when viewing the camera so when you restore navigation it takes several minutes to reset your location - I don't mind because I use a separate RV GPS unit when towing. My issue with Naviks, at least on the Sync 3 units, is that you cannot update the Sync 3 navigation maps without removing the Naviks and restoring original connections. You will get an error that Sync 3 is not installed. Not fond of pulling my dash apart every time I need to update the navigation maps. I contacted Naviks, they don't have a solution other than to pull it out, install the map software and then put it back in.

As I understand from Ford truck forums, 2022 and future trucks will have OTA (Over The Air) software updates - all software: Sync, maps, engine & transmission modules. Ford has the ability to monitor all functions in your truck from remote and correct problems as they occur. Got a software update for the transmission, they just push it out and upload. Better fuel mix for emissions, just push it out and upload. No more going to the dealer for updates. I am not sure how a Naviks harness will affect that functionality and whether Ford will have an issue with disabling the camera in motion interlock. That also impacts folks who tinker with their PCM to get better power.

OTA software updates will require planned down time for the vehicle with acceptance from the owner/driver. Still a much better experience with less hassle.
