  • Goosebox Upgrade

When I first got the 28bh I had a short bed so I ran an Andersen hitch which was great. Only complaint was it was kind of big to store if I needed the pickup bed at a campground. Also had to torque the bolts when I put it on and took it off. When I got the long bed two years ago I really wanted to move to the Reese Goosebox so that when I unhooked there would be nothing in the bed but the goose ball. Since we are stuck home in pandemic mode for the last several months we decided to go ahead with the upgrade. Install was straightforward, have a forklift at the shop so that made it quite easy. Only issue is where the coupler release and air fill are located is tough to get to with the height of the bed. I was able to make a new cable for the release and move it up under the overhang of the RV. This is only used to release the coupler, so no safety issues while towing. I also extended the air line for the air fill, and plumbed in a gauge so I could check the pressure just by looking at it rather than having to pull out my tire gauge every time I wanted to check. (Its at 50 in the picture just so I can check for leaks). I am happy with the upgrade, and I think it will make it a lot more user friendly.
