  • New - Tow Mirrors

I have a 2014 Ford F150 FX4 Super Crew. This truck has the towing package, but not the max tow. As such, it did not come with the towing mirrors. I asked for them when I bought it and I could not get that package with max tow. Not sure why.

My mirrors had the following features:

    1. Blinker,
    2. Heated,
    3. Power Fold,
    4. Had painted caps to match the truck,
    5. Puddle lamp, and
    6. they were power adjustable.

    I purchased the following:

    http://enews.1aauto.com/q/rVac86OoXA...dtYWlsLmNvbcOI

I took these to my mechanic and he ordered a couple of parts from Ford to make this look like a factory install. The install is complete. I lost the puddle light (unfortunately) and the painted caps....the 2nd only because I was not willing to buy a different cap, take to a body guy....and then spend more money to have them painted to match. I am sure if I had it would look even better. I did GAIN power telecoping.

Hope this is helpful to someone!

Great job. You will definitely like the new mirrors for towing.

      Nice!

I recently installed aftermarket tow mirrors on my 2019 XLT F150. My original mirrors had 8-pin connectors and the new ones have 22-pin connectors and an adapter harness. The new mirrors have puddle lamps and spot lights, but since my original ones did not, I had to DIY those features by tapping in to other wires. I did not go with power fold or power telescope mirrors like you did. Those things are sweet.

I just realized, I failed to take a pic of the Ford factory part the mechanic ordered for me (inside the door). I will try to do so soon and post it in the original post.

I have a 1996 Chevy K3500 and I purchased the Trail Ridge towing mirrors as well. This brand of mirror is the BEST aftermarket product I have purchased. The mirrors are well constructed and of high quality! Installation was easy and they came with an extra bracket to support the additional weight of these mirrors. I purchased them from Partsgeek.com as they were the only place that had both the left and right in stock. They are pricey but worth every penny in my opinion.

I had intended on buying a rear observation camera. After installing these mirrors I don't see the need and am holding off on the camera.

You may be right that rear camera may not be needed....but I have to say....with both? It is very nice. I have complete visibility at any given moment. Makes me feel very safe and safety is the one thing I don't want to skimp on! I had the rear and side camera before the mirrors though....and it was almost enough in and of itself!

Very nice! When I bought my 2016 Chevy last year I went to 1aauto and got tow mirrors for my truck. Also, read the RPO codes and installed a backup camera that is OEM.
