  • 2400BH frame measurement for Andersen hitch

Hi everybody! We are new to the forum and new to GD. We have a 2400BH on order and are purchasing an Andersen hitch to bring it home. I have all the measurements but one - can anyone tell me the frame height (the height of the frame itself, at or around the propane tanks)? I believe it is 5" but wanted to verify before I ordered from Andersen.
    Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the technical forum Chip and Marnie. I checked my drawings but unfortunately, they don't have the dimensions for the frame components. On my Reflection 297RSTS travel trailer, that dimension is 5-3/4" but it also has a larger gross vehicle weight rating so it may have a larger frame.

I'm going to flag one of the GDRV employees who may be able to help with your question.

    - Can you get the measurement for the frame component that Chip is asking about in post number 1?

    Thanks,

    Jim

Just so you know Lippert (frame maker) does not approve of the Anderson hitch. You might want to check with GD too. Lots of threads on this too if you want to search.

2400bh is a travel trailer, I’ve not heard of any issues there. No problems with my Andersen hitch.

Yes, they make a weight distribution hitch:

I actually was going to buy this kit, but the dealer I was talking to steered me away from it, and I end up with the Blue -Ox system.

The dealer said he's sold a bunch of them, and his customers did not like them, so he's not recommending them. (Yes, it's not very scientific, but I do trust the parts guy at the counter)

Thank you for the measurement Brittany, and thank you all for the helpful suggestions.

I have used a more conventional weight distributing hitch before with another TT and thought I would give the Andersen a try since I am really at the very low end of hitch weight with my truck to even need weight distribution.

I will post a review of my experience with the Andersen once I get a few thousand miles of use under my belt.

That would be great information for us to have on file Chip.
