  • Pulling new wires from pin box to front compartment

I am trying to pull some camera video cables from the pin box into the front compartment, exactly as the 7-pin cable is run. I can see the termination of the 7-pin in the front compartment (and in the pin box), but I can’t tell what route it takes in the front frame once it leaves the pin box, or find an opening inside the front frame to do the equivalent. The 7-pin cable exits the pin box thru a hole on the port side (left, facing forward), and there is an identical hole on the starboard. I’ve tried probing with a stiff wire, and looked around a little with a cheap endoscope, but can’t find where it goes.

Does anyone know the route of the 7-pin cable with the front frame, and/or had any luck running a similar cable?

    This is on a 2021 Reflection 303RLS

    Thanks,
    - Mark

And yes, I could mount the cables under the overhang on the outside. But that’s just ... ugly.

I have heard some have been able to fish it, and some were successful in loosening the screws and then fishing it. I tried both and was unsuccessful, and I’m usually pretty good at running cable. I finally gave up and drilled up from the pin box into the compartment under the bed, ran the cables back a bit and then drilled back down into the front storage area. I then sealed both holes with spray foam. I ran the factory Ford TPMS and camera cable, and then later opened it up to run my DC to DC 4AWG charging wires.

From a picture I have from a factory tour , sorry I can not share , there are single wires that leave the metal box where the 7 pin wire connects to the RV and runs thru a loom over to the port side and into the frame work of the over hang and then exits inside the front storage on the same side in a loom. I know this is not much help but from the pic it may be impossible to run a wire thru the same bundle. You may get lucky , as ncitro has said , and get a fish tape up thru the center of the over hang. Good luck and keep us posted on the progress.

On our last two 5th wheels, I just loosened a couple screws on the material that is on the underside of the front overhang (sorry, not sure what the proper term is) and then fished the wires. In my case I was running the TPMS and camera cables for my factory Ford system. I actually found it to be pretty easy to do - at least compared to running wires from the basement to roof using the factory satellite/solar "channel".
