I'm planning my trip to a CAT scale, doing research so I'm not wasting the WeighMaster time.

    I just found this sheet:

He's got alot of calculators. Can some of you guys with CAT scale ticket's test it out, see if it's accurate.

The numbers matched the spreadsheet version I have.

FYI--no need to waste the WeighMaster's time. Put the Weigh My Truck app on your phone and get the weight ticket via email. Run across the scale three times (truck only, truck+camper w/WDH, truck+camper no WDH) and then do the math while parked. It really is easy once you do it a time or two.

There is a potential that the Recycling center my city runs allows Residents to utilize the truck scale. I'm stopping by later today to ask the office if this is true. However, it doesn't have multiple PADs, just a single scale. This is very attractive, as it's only about 5 minutes from my house, versus a 1 hour drive just to reach a scale. Down side is it's not designed to weigh by axle, just total truck weight.

Any suggestions on how to weigh using a single pad scale? Is it even worth it?

How big is the scale pad? I have seen some that are small enough to weigh each individual axle. Then you just combine your weights as with the CAT scale. The CAT scale just weighs all three axles simultaneously.

This is what I did at my local single scale at a grain elevator. Downside there may be a cost for each weighing - ask before.

When pulling on the scale, get front axle weight. then pull forward to just truck on scale. This will give you total truck weight with pin weight included. Subtract front axle weight and you have loading on rear axle. Then weigh with truck and trailer on scale that will give you combined weight.
Pull forward to where truck is just off scale trailer on (be sure you rlanding jacks will reach scale deck) This will give you the weight on trailer axles
Drop front jacks and lift until no weight on hitch. This will give you total trailer weight. Subtract axle weight gives pin weight
Raise landing jacks and pull forward until only one trailer axle is on scale. With this number you can calculate what each axle is carrying. Some scales wont work with just the axle on the scale, but ask. Before doing this talk to the scale operator - there may be other options.
